The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Program is a professional course designed to prepare teachers for upper primary or middle school levels (Classes VI-VIII), secondary levels (Classes IX-X), and senior secondary levels (Classes XI-XII).

Duration and Working Days

Duration:

The B.Ed program spans over two academic years (as per NCTE notification, New Delhi, 28th November 2014) and must be completed within a maximum of three years from the date of admission.

Working Days:

The program requires a minimum of 200 working days per year, excluding periods of examinations and admissions.

Student-teachers must maintain a minimum of 80% attendance for all coursework and practicum, and 90% attendance for school internships.

Eligibility, Admission Procedure, and Fees

Eligibility:

Candidates must have at least 50% marks in their Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree in Science, Social Science, or Humanities, or a Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with a specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks, or an equivalent qualification, to be eligible for admission.

Reservations and relaxations for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other categories will be in accordance with the applicable rules of the Central or State Government.

Admission Procedure:

Admission will be based on merit, considering the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination, or through another selection process as per the State Government/UT Administration and university policies.

Fee Structure:

The fee structure will be determined by the affiliating body or State Government, in line with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) regulations, as amended from time to time.

Assessment:

Assessment will be conducted both internally and externally, with the affiliating university determining the weightage for each.
